The Work We Take On
KeyQ solves operational and technical problems where off-the-shelf systems don't fit. Cloud infrastructure, custom software, automation, mobile — those are tools. The work is understanding your operation well enough to know which one the problem actually calls for.
How an Engagement Works
We don't start by prescribing software. We start by learning how the work gets done today — who touches it, where it stalls, what people have quietly built workarounds for. The technology decision comes out of that, not before it.
Learn the operation
Conversations with the people actually doing the work, not just the people commissioning the project. We want the spreadsheet everyone depends on and the step nobody enjoys.
Decide what's actually needed
Scope, approach, and an honest cost. Often the right answer is smaller than what was originally asked for, and we'd rather say that up front than bill for the difference.
Build it and keep it running
We ship it, operate it, and stay responsible for it. The infrastructure and the code stay in your accounts and under your ownership.
When we're not the right fit
If a product on the market already does what you need, we'll tell you which one and stay out of the way. We take on work we can do excellently, which means turning down work we can't — and we stay a small team on purpose.
The Toolbox
What we reach for once we understand the problem. Most engagements use more than one of these, and few use all of them.
When the software is fine but what it runs on isn't
We design, build, and manage AWS environments for organizations that need infrastructure they can trust. Sometimes that's a migration off on-premises hardware. Sometimes it's an existing deployment that works but costs more than it should, or that nobody left at the company fully understands.
Architecture & Migration
Cloud-native architecture design and migration planned around your operating constraints — minimizing downtime for the parts of the business that can't absorb it.
Cost Optimization
Right-sizing instances, moving workloads onto Graviton ARM processors, reserved capacity planning, and continuous monitoring to keep your AWS bill where it should be.
Managed Services
Ongoing infrastructure management, monitoring, security patching, and incident response. We treat your infrastructure like our own.
Serverless & Infrastructure as Code
Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and repeatable deployment pipelines that reduce the number of things a person has to remember to do by hand.
For the part of your business no product quite covers
Most companies don't need a custom version of everything — they need one system built around the way they specifically operate, connected to the off-the-shelf tools that already work fine. That's usually the internal platform the whole operation runs on: orders, cases, inventory, scheduling, whatever your business actually moves through the day.
Kyte is a framework we built and maintain ourselves. When a project fits it, it removes months of repetitive groundwork and puts the budget into the parts that are specific to you. When a project doesn't fit it, we build with something else — the framework is there to serve the work, not the other way around. More about Kyte.
Internal Operations Systems
The system the business runs on. Built around your existing workflow rather than forcing the workflow to match the software, and integrated with the tools you're keeping.
Customer-Facing Applications
Portals, configurators, and web applications where the experience is part of the product and a template won't get you there.
Legacy Modernization
Aging systems that still run the business and can't simply be switched off. We have decades of enterprise and legacy experience on the team for exactly this.
Mobile & Cross-Platform
Flutter applications and progressive web apps — usually because the work happens in a vehicle, on a site, or anywhere that isn't a desk.
Removing the step somebody does by hand every day
A surprising amount of operational friction isn't a missing system — it's two systems that don't talk, or a report someone rebuilds every Monday morning. This is often the cheapest work we do and the fastest to pay for itself.
We run AI and agent automation in production on our own operations first — an autonomous content pipeline and a CRM-connected lead system, both running unattended with human approval gates. When we recommend an approach here, it's because we're already living with its trade-offs.
System Integration
APIs, webhooks, and data synchronization between the tools you already use, so the same information stops being typed in twice.
Workflow Automation
Scheduled jobs, event-driven pipelines, and approval flows that take the repetitive parts of a process off a person's desk without taking away their judgment.
Practical AI
Document extraction, classification, drafting, and agent workflows — applied where they measurably beat the current process, and left alone where they don't.
Specialized Work
Some problems need more than general software experience. These are areas where we've built purpose-specific systems, developed domain knowledge, or created dedicated products.
Live Streaming & Media Infrastructure
We build and operate media delivery infrastructure for live streaming, on-demand content, and broadcast workflows — including running production streaming platforms on AWS ourselves. Media is unforgiving in a specific way: the failure is public, immediate, and measured in seconds. That shapes how we build it.
Live Streaming Platforms
End-to-end live streaming with low-latency delivery, adaptive bitrate, and global CDN distribution for audiences of any size.
Media Processing
Transcoding, packaging, and delivery pipelines for audio and video. Automated workflows that scale with your content library.
Production-Proven Architecture
This infrastructure has been battle-tested in production at scale, and the same stack and operational experience is available for your media projects.
Commerce That Doesn't Fit a Storefront Template
If you sell something standard, use Shopify — we'll say so. We get called in for the cases where the selling itself is the complicated part: products configured rather than picked, multi-vendor and franchise networks, inventory that has to reconcile with operations elsewhere in the business.
Configurators & Custom Storefronts
Product configurators, virtual try-on, and checkout flows built for products that can't be reduced to a catalog row.
Marketplaces & Multi-Vendor
Multi-vendor marketplaces, franchise ordering networks, and the fulfillment and inventory integrations underneath them.
Connected to the Rest of the Business
Commerce is rarely a standalone problem. It usually has to reconcile with inventory, invoicing, and whatever system the operations team already lives in.
Private Markets & Family Office Technology
We built Page for family offices and investment managers whose structures don't map cleanly onto generic portfolio software. No two offices share a set of entities, roles, or reporting lines, so the platform expects to be shaped around each one rather than the other way around.
Each office gets its own application, its own database, and its own domain. Page runs on Kyte, which is what makes a new entity type, field, role, or report a configuration change instead of a rewrite — the same idea as the rest of this page, turned into a product.
Explore PageCommitments, Entities & Managers
Commitments tracked per legal entity — trusts, LLCs, foundations — alongside manager relationships, fund terms, vintages, capital calls, and meeting records.
Quarterly Performance
Paid-in capital, distributions, NAV, unfunded amounts, TVPI, DPI, and net IRR — plus family records across members, generations, and relationships.
Governance & Integrations
Role-based access with field-level controls and audit logging, manager statement and document pulls, Microsoft 365 mail and calendar sync, and rules that flag what's been overlooked.
Life Sciences & Research Computing
Research computing is specialized enough that it has its own team, its own brand, and its own clients. Cytogence handles flow cytometry, spatial biology, NGS, and multi-omics work — HPC environments on AWS, reproducible analysis pipelines, and the engineering that lets researchers stay focused on the science.
If that's what you're looking for, go straight there. It's the same standard of work under a name that means something to the people who need it.
